Jamal Campbell
Jamal Campbell, born February 24, 1993, in Prince George’s County, Maryland, was raised in Dillon County, South Carolina, where he developed a strong foundation rooted in discipline, service, and community. After graduating from Dillon High School, Jamal pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning his degree from Johnson & Wales University. Known for his creativity, precision, and leadership, he has consistently translated his culinary foundation into broader operational and organizational success.
Jamal began his professional career as a Culinary Arts instructor at Marlboro County High School, where he contributed to advancing culinary education across the state and was recognized in 2016 by the South Carolina Department of Education. He later served as Food and Beverage Director at Phoenix Senior Living, where he quickly distinguished himself through leadership and operational excellence. Currently, Jamal serves as the Director of Operations for Marlboro County Government, overseeing departments, driving operational efficiency, and supporting county-wide strategic initiatives. He previously served four years as an elected member of Dillon County Council, where he advanced community development and secured funding for key projects.
Jamal was appointed by Governor Henry McMaster to the Board of Palmetto Pride and serves as Chairman of the Man2Man Fatherhood Initiative Board, leading efforts to strengthen families and expand economic mobility across the region. He also contributes to workforce development through advisory roles and statewide initiatives. A results-driven leader, Jamal is known for combining vision with execution while maintaining a strong commitment to service and community impact. He is married to Jamesa D. Campbell and is the proud father of Jamea Campbell and Jamal Campbell II. He resides in Florence, South Carolina.
