About The Catering

Department LLC

The Catering Department LLC began in a very simple and organic way just good food, good people, and a passion for serving others. What started as occasional cooking for friends, family, and community events gradually turned into something much bigger.

 

In the early days, the team consisted of just four people: Dallas Curry, Jackie Curry, Renee Williamson, and Chef Jamal Campbell. At the time, catering was simply one of several business ideas being explored. Requests for food and event services began coming in more frequently, and the small team often stepped in to help bring those events to life.

 

Recognizing the growing demand, the group encouraged Chef Campbell to make the venture official. Having previously experienced the challenges of building a catering operation especially finding reliable and consistent help there was initial hesitation. However, Dallas reassured him that the team would always be there to support the effort. During that conversation, the name “The Catering Department” was suggested. It was simple, professional, and memorable exactly the type of brand that could stand the test of time.

 

With that vision in mind, The Catering Department LLC officially launched on December 31, 2025.

FOUNDER

Founder Chef Jamal Campbell, a 2014 graduate of Johnson & Wales University, brings formal culinary training together with years of real world experience in hospitality and service. Through The Catering Department, he continues to express his deep passion for preparing exceptional food while delivering professional, high-quality service.

Today, The Catering Department LLC focuses on providing memorable culinary experiences for weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, and community gatherings. The company prides itself on flavorful cuisine, dependable service, and the belief that every event large or small deserves attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
